USAIGC / NAGCG COLLEGE BOUND INVITATIONAL WILL NOT BE CONDUCTED
The JO National Championship schedule, as well as the National Collegiate Coaches Meeting, make it impossible for the USAIGC to host a College Bound Invitational on behalf of the NCAA Collegiate Coaches. Without the presence of 85% of the Collegiate Coaches, are average attendance, I cannot with a clear conscience host this event for the Gymnastics Community at large.
On behalf of the USAIGC I want to thank the Collegiate Coaches, Club Coaches, our Gymnasts & Parents for their support and loyalty throughout the years. I must also thank the USAIGC Sponsors, Alpha Factor and AAI.
Thank you all for the memories. Paul Spadaro

FROM VICTORY COLLEGIATE CONSULTING NCAA Eligibility Center The NCAA Clearinghouse changed both name and location. The former NCAA Clearing House has been renamed the NCAA Eligibility Center (EC) and has moved its home base to Indianapolis. The mission remains the same. First, it is to ensure those prospective student-athletes and their parents, member institutions and high school administrators understand the academic and amateurism requirements necessary to participate in NCAA division 1 and 2 athletics. Second, it will certify prospective student-athletes' academic and amateur credentials in accordance with NCAA standards and philosophy".
Working closely with your guidance counselor and/or college advisor is important in assisting the prospect through this process. The advisor will submit a Form 48H to the NCAA EC for the core course evaluation. Only courses offered in the disciplines of English, math, social science and natural/physical science will be considered, along with additional academic courses.
A proactive and organized approach should be used, and the prospect needs to demonstrate motivation and self-reliance during this process. Advisors may be working with hundreds of students. Do not wait for your advisor to contact you to assist you with the EC registration! Each student must complete and file an application to the NCAA Clearinghouse. This application, along with current high school transcripts will be sent from the guidance office at the high school to the Clearinghouse. Show the advisor you are a willing team member and will assist in any way to facilitate the process.
Freshman eligibility is very important and should not be treated lightly. Considering the tremendous effort exerted by the prospect, family, college coach and high school administrators during this process, it would be in the best interest of the prospect to approach registration with the Clearinghouse with enthusiasm and care. The bottom line is that you cannot contribute to the team if you cannot practice an compete! Thank you Tom - Director Victory Collegiate Consulting

The Victory Collegiate Consulting Team Finding the right college is an important obligation to our athletes. It takes both an organized and persistent approach as the competition for athletic scholarships and college admissions becomes greater with each recruiting cycle.
The USAIGC has been a tremendous advocate in bridging the gap between college coaches and prospective student athletes with the development and success of the College Bound Invitational. This annual event marks the first attempt in the American Gymnastics Community to showcase young athletes as part of an overall effort in the college search.
Tom Kovic, former 19 year head coach of Women's Gymnastics at The University of Pennsylvania echo's the USAIGC effort. Tom is the Director of Victory Collegiate Consulting, which is an educational service designed to assist famalies and prospects in developing and executing their plans for the college quest.
The USAIGC has always provided helpful seminars at the first five College bound Invitationals. In 2008, the USAIGC, has invited Tom to speak to our student-athletes and their famalies and coaches to attain a confident understanding of college recruiting. The USAIGC believes that Tom / Victory Consulting, can be a source of information to parents, athletes and coaches. His presence at the 2008 College bound Invitational will further compliment what was established in 2002. We invite all parents, coaches & athletes to attend these informational lectures FREE OF CHARGE.
Coach Kovic, will begin posting monthly newsletters on the USAIGC web site in an effort to grow awareness of the many important areas of college recruiting. In addition, he will host monthly webinars, where participants can forward questions as part of a further effort to increase awareness and to provide pertinent information for famalies as they begin their college search.
